who we are

Located in downtown Loomis and Colfax, Il Pizzaiolo Wood-fired Pizza is the brainchild of Brooklyn born Peter Lostritto, whose Italian family heritage originated from Naples and Bari, Italy.  

Since the inception, our focus has been on a truly Naples style pizza, wood-fired, flour imported from Italy and all made in house with traditional methods.  

Our dough is made 48-72 hours in advance, for a long fermentation that improves its flavor and digestibility. Everything is made in house by hand to insure the highest quality available. Our choice for only one location allows us an obsessive focus on detail.

Peter Lostritto is a pioneer of the Naples style pizza in the Sacramento region. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was raised by his Italian grandparents in his early years and was influenced by their Italian heritage of down home Italian cooking. This has propelled him to pursue his dedication to create a perfect pizza and he is continuing to expand on his craft.All our recipes are from his grandmother's dedication to perfection.  Come in and try our homemade spaghetti and meatballs, calzones, lasagne and homemade desserts.
